STORIA DI UNA GHIRLANDA...

Questa è la storia di una ghirlanda ricercata a lungo e finalmente acquistata la settimana scorsa ad Abilmente. Era da tempo che avevo in mente di realizzare una ghirlanda autunnale da appendere alla porta d'entrata della nostra casa.

This is the story of a wreath that I have been looking for so long and that in the end I bought at Abilmente. It was a long time that I had in my mind an autumn wreath to hang up on our entrance door.

Volevo utilizzare dei simpatici funghetti che avevo acquistato qualche settimana fa da JYSK, un negozio che vende arredamento danese.

I wanted to use some nice mushrooms bought some weeks ago from JYSK, a shop selling Danish furniture.

Poi, dopo aver visto QUESTA IMMAGINE su Pinterest, mi sono ricordata di una tecnica che la mia insegnante di italiano della scuola media ci aveva fatto usare un anno per conservare delle belle foglie autunnali, ovvero quella di cerare le foglie e allora ho voluto riprovare. 

Then, after looking at THIS PICTURE on Pinterest, I remembered of a tecnique that my Italian teacher at middle school taught us to keep some nice autumn leaves, the tecnique of using wax...so I wanted to try.

Ho raccolto delle belle foglie gialle e rosse e le ho cerate sciogliendo una candela in una pentola vecchia. Poi le ho lasciate asciugare su un foglio di carta da forno.

I collected some nice yellow and red leaves and I put them in the dissolved wax in an old pan. Then I left them drying on a baking paper.

Quindi ho iniziato ad inserire prima i funghetti attraverso un sottile filo di ferro che ho inserito nel buchino che c'era sulla base dei funghetti e che ho poi avvolto alla ghirlanda, così da fissarlo per bene (i funghetti sono in terracotta). 

Then I started to fix mushrooms throught a thin iron thread that I put in a hole on the base of the mushroom and that I rolled up around the wreath to fix it (the mushrooms were earthen).

Poi ho incollato le foglie con la colla a caldo.

Then I gluee the leaves with hot glue.

Il risultato finale mi piace proprio tanto. 

I really like the final result.

E' la prima ghirlanda che creo e sono molto soddisfatta....avrei voluta appenderla proprio in concomitanza dell'arrivo dell'autunno ed invece sono un pochino in ritardo....ma per fortuna ce l'ho fatta!

It was my first wreath and I'm really satisfied with it....I would have hang up it on the first day of Autumn and I'm a little bit late....but fortunately I am still within the agreed time.

....OF A COUNTRY BEDROOM...

Ora che la sistemazione della nostra camera, è in dirittura d'arrivo, voglio finalmente mostrarvela. Non è ancora del tutto completa...in seguito vi mostrerò gli aggiornamenti. Se ricordate, QUI avevo mostrato alcuni dettagli.

Now that our bedroom is nearly completed, I want to show it to you. It's not completely finished...I will show you again in the future. If you remember, HERE I had shown some bedroom details.

L'abbiamo scelta con cura e stranamente nonostante i nostri gusti in merito alla camera da letto fossero un po' discordi, su questa ci siamo trovati subito d'accordo. E' un mix perfetto, a mio parere tra country e moderno...visto che non amo lo stile classico, nè quello troppo shabby.

We chose it accurately and, in spite of the fact that we usually like different style of bedroom, we agreed immediately about this one. It' a perfect mix, in my opinion, of country and modern style...since I don't like  neither classic style nor very shabby style.

Le lettere vi avevo raccontato QUI come le ho pitturate, mentre i due quadri sono un regalo di mio marito per lo scorso Natale. Provengono da Maison du Monde.

I told HERE about how I painted the letters. The two pictures were my husband's present ofor last Christmas. They come from Maison du Monde.

Mi piacciono i toni neutri che mi permettono di cambiare i colori alla stanza abbinando stoffe (runner, copriletto, in futuro eventuali cuscini decorativi) e accessori di volta in volta di colore diverso.

I like the neutral colours that allow me to change the general colour of the bedroom using different fabrics (runner, bed cover, eventually decorative cuschions ) and accessories each time of different colours.

Al momento ciò che  trovo un po' stonato sono le abajour, entrambe della thun. La parte di sopra ci starebbe anche bene, ma non mi piace tanto quell'arancio che trovo poco intonato al resto (eh a forza di praticare il mondo dei blog, i miei occhi cominciano a pretendere troppo).....in futuro penserò a qualcosa di diverso...certe volte penso che potrei pensare di pitturare in qualche modo quei colori così accesi della parte sottostante delle abajour (quella di sinistra risulta nel complesso più neutra rispetto ai colori di quella destra...penserete che sono matta, lo so!)

At the moment what I find not perfectly matched are the abajour, both by Thun. Their tops would be ok, but what I really don't like is that orange colour in the lower part ....in the future I will think to something different...sometimes I think that I could paint those so strong colours of the lower part ( the one on the left is in general more neutral than the one on the right)

Mancano la tenda, il lampadario e qualche altro dettaglio, cose a cui stiamo già pensando....la prossima volta che ve la mostrerò pertanto dovrebbe essere al completo.

It still lacks of the curtain, the lamp and some little details....but we are already think to them....next time it should be completely finished.

My kitchen in a autumn mood

Tanto per non voler fare di questo blog solo ed esclusivamente  un "food blog" (che non era la mia intenzione iniziale) voglio mostrarvi alcuni particolari della mia cucina in versione autunnale. La cucina è una stanza che adoro ed il luogo in cui nascono tutte le meraviglie del palato. Tra l'altro è la stanza al momento più completa della casa.

Since I don't want to do of this blog a "food blog" (it wasn't my intention whe I opened it) I want to show you some particulars of my kitchen in autumn mood. The kitchen is a room I really love and the place where each delicious thing have birth. At the moment it is the most complete room of the house too.

Come avevo scritto in qualche altro post, mi piace vestire la casa secondo le stagioni.  L'arancio, il giallo, il rosso e il verde sono stati i colori che ho adorato fino a qualche tempo fa (nella mia vecchia cucina, della precedente casa in affitto, tutto verteva su questi colori). Da quando ho scoperto il country i gusti sono un po' cambiati, ma rimangono dei colori che mi piacciono tanto.....quindi quale miglior occasione per usarli periodicamente se non in autunno?

As I wrote some posts ago, I like wearing my house according to the seasons. Orange, yellow, red and green were my favourite colours until some times ago (in my previous kitchen, in the previous rented house, everything was based on these colours). Then when I discovered the loved country style, my favourite colours changed a little bit, but they still remain colour that I really like... so I thoughot that I could use them seasonally and autumn is the best period to use them....

Uno dei miei hobby preferiti è il punto croce e le presine rientrano nei tanti lavori ricamati negli anni. La tovaglietta invece l'avevo acquistata diverso tempo fa e l'intenzione con cui è stata acquistata era quella di essere appunto ricamata con qualcosa di autunnale...ma il tempo è sempre quello che è e quindi quest'anno che siamo nella nostra casa nuova non ho saputo resistere all'idea di utilizzare questa tovaglietta anche se non ancora ricamata....e considerato lo schema con cui dovrei ricamarlo (bello complesso), mi sto convincendo che quasi quasi è bella anche così...

Cross stitch is one of my favourite hobbies and these pot holders are some of the works I embroidered in the last years. The mat indeed was bought some times ago and my intention was to embroider it by cross stitch with some autumn pattern....but time is alwasy so short and so this year that we are in our new house, I decided to use it aven if it is not embroidered yet....and thinking to its croos stitch pattern (quite complex), I am convincing myself that it is so nice like that too....

Per il momento vi mostro solo alcuni particolari del vestito autunnale della mia cucina, presto ve la mostrerò per intero.

Il funghetto e questo cestino di piante autunnali sono gli ultimi acquisti, a cui non ho proprio saputo dir di no!

For the moment I show you only some particulars of the autumn clothes of my kitchen, I will show all of it quite soon!
The nice big mushroom and the basket with plants were some of my last shopping, that I was completely unable to say not!

Anche i quadretti sul tavolo sono stati uno degli ultimi inserimenti......l'idea era di fare un collage di immagini inerenti la cucina e così per fare una prova e rendermi conto dell'effetto, per il momento ho stampato delle immagini-prova da internet. 

The pictures on the table were something that we set recently too...my intention was doing a kind of collage of images about kitchen and food and so to have a try and see the final effect, for the moment I printed some images (to use  like a try) from the web.

Devo dire che l'effetto finale non è niente male.

I must say that the final effect was not bad at all.

....biscuits, biscuits and biscuits....

Volevo cambiare argomento e mostrarvi un po' dei progressi nella nostra casetta...ma ho ancora qualche ricetta sfiziosa  e non ho resistito...anche perchè i giorni passano veloci, il tempo è sempre poco e allora... intanto posto!!!

 For this post I wanted to change theme and show you some progresses in our home...but I still have some cute and nice recipes to show and I didn't resist....also because days pass very quickly and time is always so short.....so in the meanwhile I decided to post!!!

Giorni fa sono stata terribilmente ispirata da QUESTA RICETTA e non ho saputo resistere....l'ho preparata subito. Quando ho visto questi coniglietti, sono rimasta incantata.... questi biscottini erano troppo carini. 

Some days ago I was terribly inspired by THIS RECIPE and I wasn't able to resist.... I made it immediately.When I saw these cute rabbits, I was charmed by them....they were too cute.

Ho scoperto QUESTO BLOG da poco ma è uno di quei blog che provoca seria dipendenza....ogni ricetta più buona e sfiziosa dell'altra, ogni foto più bella e particolare delle precedenti. Ogni volta che entro in questo posto, rimango estasiata, guardo e riguardo ogni meraviglioso particolare....

I discovered THIS BLOG few time ago and it is one of those blogs that makes you be addicted....each recipe is more delicious and tastier than the other, each picture is more beautiful, more well done and particular than the previous. Every time I visit this blog, I feel enchanted, I observe carefullly every single wonderful thing...

Non avevo un tagliabiscotti grande e così ho usato quel che avevo....

I didn't have a big cookie cutter, so I used what I had...

Il risultato è davvero ottimo, buoni a colazione ma certamente ottimi per le merende o come snack per i più piccoli. Mi viene spesso da pensare ai miei alunni, vedo mangiare di tutto di più durante gli intervalli a scuola....anche cibi pesanti che certamente non aiutano la concentrazione.

The final result is really delicious, they are good for breakfast but perfect  for snack for children too. I often think to my student and what I see they usually have for snack during the break at school....sometimes they have heavy food that certainly doesn't help concentration.

E poi le formine, adoro le formine per biscotti!

And then I love cutters.....I really love cookie cutters!
